This project featured a brand new Model T-2350 FRP cooling tower installed at a new facility in North Carolina. The customer opted for the full OSHA safety package, including caged ladders, hand rails, and a small catwalk at the top of the tower for easy access to the fan and water distribution system.

The T-2350 is part of our T-2 model line of counterflow induced draft FRP cooling towers, sized for mid-to-large commercial and industrial cooling loads. Like every CTS tower, it features fiberglass-reinforced plastic casing and basin construction that resists corrosion, a circular footprint that performs the same regardless of wind direction, and modular components that simplify assembly.

The OSHA safety package on this install is worth highlighting. OSHA standards require fall protection systems on fixed ladders extending more than 24 feet above a lower level, and many facilities choose to standardize on OSHA-compliant access from day one to make routine maintenance, inspection, and water treatment work safer and easier. CTS designs and supplies the ladder, cage, hand rails, and catwalk directly with the tower so the safety system arrives pre-engineered to match the equipment, no field fabrication required.

The catwalk at the top of this T-2350 is a smaller add-on that pays off over the life of the tower. Routine work at the top of a cooling tower (sprinkler head inspection, drift eliminator checks, fan service) is significantly safer and faster with a fixed walking surface than with just a ladder.
