This project featured a Model T-2175 cooling tower assembled and installed at an industrial facility in southwestern Pennsylvania. The unit was mounted on a set of concrete support piers, lifting the basin off the ground for clean plumbing access and easier maintenance underneath.
The T-2175 is part of our T-2 model line of counterflow induced draft FRP cooling towers, sized for mid-range commercial and industrial cooling loads. Like every CTS tower, it features fiberglass-reinforced plastic casing and basin construction, a circular footprint, lightweight modular design, and the same energy-efficient fan system that runs across the T-2 series.
Pennsylvania installations cover a wide range of operating conditions. Cold winters mean freeze protection planning matters, and many facilities running cooling towers year-round in this region use basin heaters or remote indoor tanks to keep water from freezing during shutdown periods. The concrete pier mounting visible in this install also makes winterization and seasonal draining significantly easier, since the basin drains are fully accessible from underneath.
